I cannot say enough great things about Overland and Shahar. Almost every story I've heard about a remodel includes a nightmarish tale of a contractor situation gone awry - I am so grateful that we did not experience anything like that! Shahar is top notch in every way - knowledgeable, communicative, easy to get in touch with, delivered quality work and most importantly I felt he was trustworthy. We will use Overland again for future projects and recommend to our friends. Thank you Shahar for making our home beautiful! read less

  • 5 star ratingOver the past four years, Shahar has (1) completely gutted and rebuilt our kitchen, with beautiful cabinetry and attention to... read moreOver the past four years, Shahar has (1) completely gutted and rebuilt our kitchen, with beautiful cabinetry and attention to detail; (2) repaired a stucco exterior wall that had deteriorated due to water leaks (this entailed rebuilding a large section of it); (3) installed windows and a door leading to our patio, new flagstone outside as well as a nice ipe-wood fence; (4) redone a fireplace with tile and marble; (5) installed a wide-board hardwood living room floor; and completely redone two bathrooms, one of which involved the installation of large and very heavy porcelain slabs in the shower. He has been patient with us and our various designers, completely honest, and never cut corners with permitting or the building inspectors. We recommended him to our next door neighbor, who was also very pleased with the results. read less

I was extremely wary of contractors in general, so I was prepared for a high pressure sales pitch. Instead, Shahar listened to what I wanted, gave me a great 3-D design, and let me have the time I needed to decide what I wanted. Shahar's expertise was amazing. When the job was finished, I had a brand new kitchen that was even more beautiful than I had imagined. I especially appreciated being able to see many examples from Shahar's portfolio on the iPad. The employees were clean, respectful, and efficient. read less

I took these... read moreBefore I started project, I had heard that Overland and Shahar had terrific reviews on Yelp. I took these reviews rather lightly because friends who have service businesses complained how they can be manipulated or leave a biased and unjustified impression. Despite this, I hired Overland and Shahar based mainly on gut feeling. He just seemed honest and talented on design. He had a sense of design which took my own preferences and needs into account. He was not the cheapest quote but the quote for the quality actually was an outstanding value. The reviews you read here are an accurate description. Like me, you might think they are too good to be true. Having gone through a kitchen remodel with Overland, they are true. - Design: Took my preferences into account,let me make all decisions, yet suggested key elements that are just stunning, things I needed to be encouraged to do. Wow. The kitchen changed the entire look of the house. - Quality: Promptly corrected any small details that were the least bit wrong. I pay attention to details. If it's not right, it bothers me. He got it right. Great job. - Timeliness: Finished on time. In retrospect, not a single aspect could have been completed faster. - Cost: Came in on budget. No overages. I am told this is not true of other contractors.- Ease: Always got back to me promptly. - Staff: Friendly and considerate. Carpenter seemed extremely talented. - Cleanup: Staff cleaned meticulously and left my place sparkling clean. Magnificent. read less

We still get compliments on the design and the tiling. Neither of which I could have done without them. I felt confident in the guidance Overland gave us and all prices were exactly as planned (actually less than budgeted!). We then continued to do other work with Overland. I highly recommend them for house retrofitting. They are exacting to the last nut and bolt. I was very impressed that, although we wanted to do other projects, Shahar was concerned for our safety and wouldn't continue until we had done this (even though our other projects would have made him more money). He was right! Major tremor within that year and the house withstood it without a crack, for the first time. So grateful for caring for us as he would his own family. We are looking toward a kitchen remodel with them in the future. Quality work. Honest as the day is long. No, I am not related to the company. But, I have referred them to friends because you can trust them. read less

We... read moreWe recently hired Overland Remodeling to design and build a brand new master bedroom and bathroom for our home. We met with three different design/build firms and knew that Shahar was the perfect fit for us. He is extremely creative, honest and truly cared about the project from day one. I was nervous to start such a big project (and was actually 8 months pregnant at the time), but it was a really smooth process. Shahar and his team worked with us every step of the way to make sure everything went smoothly, going above and beyond on so many occasions to make sure we had exactly what we wanted. Shahar came with us to pick out all of our fixtures, tile, doors, floor, etc. and helped us to make the look we dreamed of a reality. Things happened when he said they would happen and there weren't any big surprises or hiccups along the way. We finished on time AND on budget and now we have an absolutely gorgeous master bedroom, bathroom and closet that we love SO much. read less

We hired Shahar and his team to handle a remodel of a 30+ year old kitchen, living room, entry way, bath and dining room along with tiling from back to front. Our project was a big one, and comprehensive. We had his crew install multiple windows, electrical, countertop, custom cabinetry, and an original cabinet piece along with raising ceiling, moving ducts, and installing new lighting. They also tiled about 1000 square feet.From the onset, Shahar and his staff were on a set schedule. We received weekly and at times daily progress updates which helped us know what to expect next. We are a big family with a dog and it was necessary for the timing to be right so that all parties knew what to expect. The company's strict adherence to their plans and informing us of any changes and modifying the schedule allowed us to all go along together. The staff were respectful, and consistent in keeping with Shahar's overall plan, and you could tell that they had been both well informed of expectations, as well as trained on a consistent level of customer service that the company intended to provide. Any concerns that we had were addressed quickly. Any issues or conflicts that arose were dealt with directly, without excuses. The team's handling of the project top to bottom left little to be desired, and at the end of it all, even though we did this project during the hottest part of the summer, I would have done it again. At all times we felt that there was an available person to handle a concern or arrive at a resolution. They take their work very personally, and it showed in our satisfaction and in the end product. I highly endorse Shahar and his team for this type of work, and will add that he is pleasant and professional to deal with as well.Thank you !!! read less
